“Life is best organized as a series of daring ventures from a secure base”

How will you know if I’m the right therapist for you?

The therapist-client fit is a key concern in psychotherapy. The rapport and relationship you build with your therapist plays a big part in making the process successful.

Aside from considering aspects such as the distance of the practice and affordability, you might want to look at whether or not my training and expertise are exactly what you require. If you feel hesitant to book an appointment you're welcome to send me an email with your phone number. I'll give you a call and we can chat over the phone (at no cost). This may help you see if you're comfortable speaking with me. The first few sessions will also help you figure out if this is for you.

How much does a session cost?

Sessions (50-60 minutes) are charged according to the current medical aid rates. The practice is registered with most medical aid schemes and claims are sent on the clients behalf.

Do you offer any discounts?

Private-pay clients are charged R1 250 per 50-60 minute session. Since healthcare in South Africa is expensive and I want to make this service accessible to every person that needs it, each week a reserved number of sessions are allocated to clients that can only pay a nominal amount per session.

Do I need to bring anything to the first consultation?

In the first consultation the aim is for you share all the important information about yourself with the me. If you have a referral letter from another health professional, a school report, or even a medical report bringing this along as it can be very helpful.

Do you work with couples and children?

I work only with individual clients, and do NOT do any couples or family therapy or psycho-legal assessment. Counselling is available to adolescents that are 14 years and older.
